Use a whiteboard for planning and tracking your project tasks and activities.

  1. Plan and monitor on a whiteboard with Post-it notes
    1. Set up 4 sections: Upcoming Tasks / In-Progress Tasks / Potential to Impede (impeding) / Complete
    2. Develop a list of detailed tasks and write on Post-it notes
      1. Ex.  a concrete foundation might look like:
        1. layout section A / layout section B / rebar delivery / excavate section A / excavate section B / Install rebar section A / install rebar section B / termite treat section A / termite treat section B / concrete pour section A / concrete pour section B ….
    3. Break it down into 1 or 2 weeks worth of work at a time
  2. Plan with your team
    1. Get your team together to plan the tasks
    2. Place notes into appropriate columns based on work
    3. Assign responsibility – use colored notes or add names to notes
  3. Review each day
    1. Team can review the board daily and update
    2. Anything in Impeding column task priority
    3. Check progress of current activities and get ready for next session
