It takes consistent, effective action to reach our goals.

  1. SMART goals – you need more
    1. Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely – but what do you do
    2. Provides a vision but not a plan
    3. Doesn’t give you the directions to get there
  2. To reach goals – focus on the action needed
    1. Put you nose to the grindstone – focus on the task, not the result
    2. If you want to win more work you need to determine the necessary actions – sales calls / bids / etc.
    3. Successful people take the necessary action even when they don’t want to
  3. What does it look like?
    1. I wanted to build this community – I do a podcast every day
    2. Want to write a book – have to write 1,000 words a day
    3. Want to get healthier – focus on exercising every day, not weighing in

Key Questions:

  1. Do you know your action steps?

  2. Do you do them consistently?

  3. Do you do them even when you don’t want to?

Take-Action Items:

  1. Break your goals down into the necessary actions

  2. Create the steps and schedule them

  3. Do the tasks
