Episode 93 – Follow Up

“When delegating and leading others be sure to follow-up. If you expect it, inspect it.”

Today we discuss the importance of follow-up.

The key to being an effective leader is to follow-up on tasks ans assignments.

What:

Follow Up. If you ask someone to do something for you follow-up with them to make sure they did it.

Why:

People need to know that when you ask them to complete something that you will be checking back on it.

How:

It’s simple right? Just follow-up. This is really common sense but it’s not always common practice. Make it a habit.

Some things to help out:

  • Be clear on expectations and timelines when assigning tasks
  • Set the deadline for follow-up
  • Be sure to follow-up when you say you will
  • Set reminders to follow-up

Remember: If you expect it; Inspect it.
