“Running a successful contracting business takes time and effort, make sure your mind and body are ready.”
Today we look at building a Personal Preventative Maintenance program.
We all work hard to build a successful business or career. It’s time to start putting that same effort into taking care of you.
What:
We talked about maintaining our equipment, now let’s talk about maintaining the most important piece of equipment, YOU.
Why:
Having a good plan to take care of yourself will improve your longevity, health, energy and happiness.
How:
Just like a piece of equipment, our bodies need some TLC. We need to have a program for taking care of ourselves and keeping the mind and body functioning at it’s best. Take a look at these key areas and make sure you are making efforts to improve.
- Eating Healthy – are you eating well? Avoid too much junk – drink plenty of water
- Exercise – are you getting some exercise each week? Get a plan and schedule some exercise time
- Sleep – do you get enough sleep? Your mind needs rest to function at peak levels
- Down Time – are you getting some “me” time – take some breaks to relieve stress
- Regular Check-ups – are you seeing a doctor regularly?
Improving your health will help in many ways from increasing energy levels, happiness and reducing stress. Make sure you are taking a proactive approach to managing YOU.
