Align your actions with your values to live a congruent life.

 

  1. Alignment versus balance
    1. Balance doesn’t really work – there will always be different areas of your life that require more attention
    2. Work towards alignment instead
    3. Have you actions fit your values and goals
  2. There will always be conflicts
    1. We all want our cake and it eat it too as they say – we can
    2. Recognize that conflicts do exist
      1. Work versus Family / Work versus Health
      2. Sometimes our actions will conflict with each other – that’s Okay
    3. This is why balance doesn’t work – our focus will change and our required attention will shift
  3. We don’t need to stress over it, we just need to understand it and plan for it
    1. Something will always have to bend – just make sure the right things are being compromised
    2. Review your goals and missions and make sure your actions are congruent
    3. Plan for the ebb and flow of your time and attention
      1. If you need to spend extra time at work plan what area will lose some attention
      2. Understand the inter-relationships of your actions – often extra work for a time leads to more freedom in the future
